Recorded 2026-06-14 · refused 2026-08-01
THE IDEA, IN FULL
Developers and professionals need privacy-preserving, local AI analysis of screenshots without sending sensitive data to cloud APIs. Running a vision model on every screenshot locally on a 4GB GPU demonstrates demand for on-device AI that respects privacy. Chrome extension could run lightweight vision model locally to analyze screenshots.
WHY IT WAS REFUSED
Refused at 55 out of 130. The machine's floor is 65, so this one never reached a shelf. It was scored at intake and never ran the full gauntlet. The intake note reads: "HN Show HN with 7 points. Niche but growing privacy concern. Local AI is trending post-Anthropic crackdown. Chrome extension fits well for local screenshot processing."
